First, buy a domain like bookface.org. You do that at a domain registrar like https://godaddy.com, or if you want a south african domain, at https://domains.co.za.
Then you need a place to host your social media platform. This can be your home computer, but you probably want it to run 24/7 so you probably want ro rent a server, for example in the amazon aws cloud.
Then you need to configure your domain to point to your host, and then your users can surf to bookface.org and they will see your social media platform running on your aws machine :)

Aren't there free domain sites like duckdns.org? Or dynu.net or geeze.com ???

Yes those exist, but you will only be able to get domains that look like bookface.duckdns.org or bookface.dynu.net, etc.

Sure! If you want to go the free route, you can also check out free web hosters, those come with a domain, and a pre-configured webserver (like php with xampp) and some gigabytes of webspace and even sql databases, so you just upload your files and you are ready to go.

I have no clue, I own a few paid domains and aws hosts. I used free hosters in the past when I was just learning to program but that was very long ago.
lima-city.de comes to mind but that's a german service. I'm sure google will come up with results, search for "free webspace"!

https://neocities.org will host your website for free with 50GB of space for uploading. No backend support (you can use Google Firebase to replicate a backend if needed), but your site will be preconfigured for HTTPS and you choose your url for free, e.g. example.neocites.org.If you by chance in the future decide to purchase a domain, it has tools to help bind your domain to your neocities account and also allows you to mount your site as a drive on your computer.
(and its all free)

If you have coded the whole front end and back end of the project you may want to test it and see that you dont have any bugs or security issues.
You need to host your website using a hosting service and need to buy a domain for your project whatever it may be
You also have to think about scalability and maintenance of it
