Which is better, Java or Javascript? (read description)

Question

I have learnt Java because of my academics.
javascript I have never actually learnt. I started developing apps (basic ones) on Android Studio which runs on Javascript and understood the syntax from a Google search and like this I got a hang of it. (I also know c++ coz of my academics)
So I want to know if javascript is really necessary to be learnt (if you know java already) or is it okay if I don't.

Basically JavaScript is used to develop interactive webpages, while Java is for creating Web apps and platforms. So both languages are different; for instance you'll use JavaScript as a front end tech and Java on the back end.

Both of these are completely different, For some purposes you need java while for others you need javascript. So its upto you what you want to do and then decide the language.

c java n JavaScript are completely different things...
Java is server side language which can modify database as well.
whereas JavaScript is a client side lang which can't do anything with database.
JavaScript is a simple text file which is read by d browser but java needs jvm to run.

allow not the name to confuse you. java script name was just adopted but the two are completely different languages. while Java is an object oriented programming language,java script is a client side web scripting language. even though node js java script library is used to develop web and hybrid apps using platforms like ionic.,java is used to develop native apps eg android apps development. both can be used to program games albeit js is for web games
