Which is better for data science. Python or R

I have been working on the field of data science for last few years ..in my experience if you work on traditional statistical models like regression models, panel data models, time series then definitely R is much more comprehensive...but with the evolution of machine learning techniques like GBM, Random Forest, XGboost and deep learning related work Python is way better... nowadays I use Python more than R.

Concerning community: R-community is quite large and prolific, too. The advantage of python is perhaps that it is a general purpose language.

I'd go with Python. Much better support and more prolific community make it an obvious choice for today and tomorrow. In the future, probably Julia might take over.
