Code Coach challenge: Convert US to EU date

My approach:

YEAR:- Always take the last four characters

MONTH:- All numbers: Take all characters before the first '/', else: I wrote all the possible letter positions indicating specific months

DATE:- If all numbers: Take all characters between the two '/'s, else: Take the second value of split() of the input and remove ',' from it.

This gives two errors. Can anybody explain why?
