Why we use HEX values for color instead of simple color names?
HEX values are difficult to remember.

There are 256 * 256 * 256 colors and it's not possible to name all of them.

Would it be better for you to remember almost 17 millions names of colours? Hex is a system easy to use when you understand the concept.

create a list of 16 MILLION SIMPLE NAMES if you can.
When you are done, find a way to loop between simple red and simple green adding a touch of simple blue for every iteration.
it would be SIMPLY a disaster

CSS will not gonna put all color Names, they put you another option, a more expensive option that you can create your own color, let's suppose that you want a color a little grey and a little dark, you can create it.

Pro tip: Computer do not understand human language. Hexadecimal is easier for pc since 16 (hexadecimal) is power of 2 and pc only works in binary system. Second thing is the shades. Lets say that you wanna gray color for background, but darker one. Only with english you wouldn't be able to make up color like that. But hexadecimal numbers can produce for you like 50 shades of gray (50 Shades of Grey hehe). So it's all about possibilities. If you want simple red just write "red" instead of #FF0000, but if you wanna more complicated color I'd recommend using hexadecimal numbers or RGB.
