You would have to practice everyday at least about 30 minutes.. Dont worry if you have to repeat the same thing.. This is how you learn

Keep notes, its very important and useful! I started learning HTML a month ago and made a website where I wrote evetything new I learned, explained how everything works and included examples for everything, I may now forget some stuff some times, but it doesn't really matter, because I know I can just read my notes and it only takes some minutes, since they are well organized. You can't remember everything, but if you learn something once you can learn it again, and faster, easier than the first time. While making my notes I also practiced my skills, since I needed to use HTML to make these, and this really helped me.

Write the codes, using them what you learned, apply what you learned in practice, and remember ...

This book will 100% guranteed help you out. It is not a coding book, it is a memory technique used by the people on this planet who have the best memory retention. Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer. Read it. It is essentially the skill of creating a visual metaphor for new knowledge you gain by associating words with images. The human mind isnt meant to read words, it evolved to see imagery, you can hack your brain to see symbolism and imagery in everything you read and store it in long term memory because it is viewed as IMPORTANT information rather than just boring words.
Additionally you should practice what code you read within a day or two of learning it to essentially do the same thing but through practice. Dont just read how to code, do it.

I take notes, and screen shots, as well as print off cheat sheets.
