Should I make 2D game in Python or C#?

I want to make a 2D game in which you have a detective(P1) and randomly hidden person that you need to rescue before time runs out, while staying hidden from search lights of enemies moving around, with text hints provided. Should I go ahead with Python or do I need to learn C#? I am a Python beginner... Anyone interested, we can build this together, and learn in the process. Thanks :)
