When I was comfortable with: Techniques of problem analysis Solution design alternatives Two programming languages inside out on a basic level. Also: i understood at least two programming paradigms and selected CS concepts: algorithms, graphs, basics of discrete maths, etc. particularly needed in the field I was applying to. I had a a Git portfolio of projects I did to show them my problem solving skills and software implementation of solutions And last but not least I learnt as much as I could about coders' interviews and did a large number of drills. Then it was a breeze because I gained enough confidence to know that if I was rejected this meant they were stupid, not me.
