How do I disable messaging?

I've been getting a lot of spam messages with urls (like many other people, I know). Some pose as SL and offer some sort of an activity (fake, obviously). The latest one told me my personal data could be compromised and offered a link to check it. While I know it's all just spam, the notifications of new messages are getting annoying. Is there a way to disable messaging or at least restrict it to people you follow or something? I never accept the new messages, so the app won't let me see their profiles to report.

I'm guessing it was bit.ly short link. There was a spam compaign ongoing by a certain person who was reponsible for the same. If you have a screenshot and profile url of said person feel free to report in this thread: https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/524028/

Thanks for the tips, y'all! Jan Markus, I'll try choosing another country! I think it has more to do with that than my gender ☺️ It's more like a mass phishing attack than a personal harassment issue. Christian Grey, I'm so good at ignoring messages, but this is getting too much :( Stephan Manthey, yeah, you report the user. After which they register another account and start over... Lord Krishna, yeah, I know, I was just wondering if there were ways to prevent spam, not report it afterwards. Because with the dedication of whoever's responsible? Reporting alone looks Don Quixotesque at best :( Mirielle[ InAcTiVe ], thanks! I tried that, but it didn't work at the time, so I assumed it wasn't possible. Maybe the app just froze for a bit or something. I'll try again next time!

I wish we could prevent them too, but the Messaging feature is not a moderated area of the platform, so it's out of our jurisdiction. For now, even as volunteer moderators we can only charge at windmills. 😅

Yeah this is kinda annoying. Best thing you can do is just ignore the message. Or else do as Jan Markus told.

There is option for disabling notifications but no way to disable ur messages but if u dont want to read them then don't open the message req Or u can decline them and if u get any inappropriate or vulgar message then u can report the user and send a screenshot to our moderators... They r always ready to help.
