unity is game engine that use javascript or c# to develope games on it. if you want to build games with unity it's fine to go with c# if you want to go with desktop development c# also is good to start with but if you want to go with web development you need to know html , css , javascript basics first and could go with c# and enter the track of ASp.net After c# . finally define what you wnat to do then search what to learn to do it

I started off coding with C# at the age of 14. It was fairly easy to pick up, and I enjoyed it alot. If you are having trouble with the book being to advanced, I suggest watching Bob Tabor's series on C# in Visual Studio's IDE. (You don't have to have Visual Studio's, just use any compatable text editor and follow along with the examples provided) Here's a Link to the series: https://mva.microsoft.com/en-us/training-courses/c-fundamentals-for-absolute-beginners-16169?l=Lvld4EQIC_2706218949
