Hey there Z1LNUX_P01S0N , I think it's better to know both 😅 But it's good to learn the new technologies, because I think in future there will be used more node.js or other, and not so much the "olders" ones. But this is only my opinion, this is a opinion-based question. Hope it helps :)

It probably depends on where you are and the job market. Find out what the industry status is & direction. It's difficult to imagine that all of these newer technologies will be short trends. In fact, they already aren't. Node has been around since 2009 and React since 2013/2014? Where I am (UK), I would say to someone starting today to focus on something like React/Angular/Vue and related front-end technologies like Redux, or if they want back-end, then Node, Express, MongoDB etc. By the way, you mention React when you say server-side but it's client-side. It's a UI library. Another suggestion: you should also look into TypeScript.

Customers generally don't care about the technology used. They are just interested in if the product or service you provide meets their business requirements, which is the way it should be. I've never learnt PHP but I would say that you need to specialise in both (learn both properly) if you want to be able to work in both.
