C# is new generation programming language with synatx similar to java. If you know java then C# is very easy for you.
If you want to develop apps for windows store and WPF by using XAML then it is very useful. Learning C# is also advantage and is a part of C programming language family.
though you can develop windows store apps and other desktop apps for .NET using Visual C++ and DirectX but learning C# is added skill.
It depends on you.
