When will R be added for challenges?

When you say "When" regarding Sololearn things it means you have to ask from Sololearn or send feedback to SoloLearn on [e-mail] because we can't tell when Sololearn will add something.

Hopefully R challenges will be added in the coming weeks or months.

SL have locked the community ability to generate contents time ago.

So new langs like Kotlin and later has no challenges.

Seems to be that it will remain with no change, some time at least.

In the app, there is a menu in the top left. If you click it, you'll see settings and stuff. There should be "Feedback", too

There is a feedback option in the app in the top right corner menu. They respond pretty quickly :)
