I am not sure what you asking, you already have space between red and blue box. I place comment on part of code what make this space and changed indentation of html.
Try to indent your code better. Also you are using position relative for this, but this is not its purpose in website, only if you try to learn it. This pisition is great to make some custom icons or draw. And absolute is used to make modals, like whan you click login/register, you got modal on middle or screen, for example.
