Php or nodejs and why

This will always be a matter of taste and personal preference, which language to choose.
PHP is still powering 80% of the known internet in 2022.
NodeJS will get you an easier path to frontend / full stack, if you mean to grow your skills eventually (because it is just JavaScript after all).
Personally I would pick neither of them, but it is also up to the specific project's requirements and conditions, what is the most ideal choice.

These days you can even go full stack with C# or Kotlin, using the right frameworks. WASM might eventually replace JavaScript in the browser.
