Caring about your xp points is bad for your learning progress. Agree or disagree?
I personally try not to follow the leadership board. Because in my opinion, if you care too much for your own points, you miss the opportunity to genuinely learn something, but instead just care how many points you make. If you care too much about your ranking you take fewer risks and only want to do something from which you already know that you are going to be good at it. But learning requires you to involve into activities that are unknown to you. Therefore following the leadership board, or caring about your rank or points is counterproductive when it comes to learning. What's your opinion? Do you agree or disagree?

I fully agree with you. That's why I read programming books and learn stuff besides Sololearn. We should focus on something new and keep on progress.

Agree, you must "depart" sololearn quite a bit.

I agree AND disagree Thanh...
If we base ourselves on gaining XP only with challenges, then yeah, I think we tend to play only those languages we already know and the learning curve reaches a flat point eventually and then starts descending.
But pursuing more XP points might be a good motivation engine to complete all the courses, participate more, let all your doubts out and code more to unlock badges and therefore gain XP and keep learning.
Although I strongly believe that the rankings should NOT only be based on XP, there should be other criteria involved. Specially for higher level users who win less XP points on challenges.😊

i think the competitive aspect of this platform is helping it in keeping people engaged and coming back for more.
eventually, a sense of accomplishment can help in keeping the motivation up, and in a field such as programming motivation can fluctuate quite a lot.
for some people it can be very important while for others it is neglible and could be considered as a "nice feature" and no more.
like everything in life, it is all about balance.
gotta find the right one ;)

I agree. The leaderboard is the fun part of Sololearn. I am always roaming in Q/A Discussions these days.

Agree. Sololearn doesn't reward learning well enough.
