How do you remember a programming language after leaving it for a while?

After leaving a language I've learnt for a while, I always forget everything about it...Am I supposed to cram it all or what am I supposed to do?

I think it's quite normal that you have to refresh some of the things in a programming language if you haven't worked with it for a while.
