If I were you I'd focus on making & marketing a game without ads at first. And once you get a following for your game/brand make a sequal or a new game with very low profile unintrusive ads that you can give the users a way to remove them (via small onetime payment, for free etc.). A donate button would be a much better option at first especially. Ads break player interaction, immersion and can be very distracting in games that require the users attention.

Gamers love games, not ads. I wouldn't advise mixing the two if I could help it.

For Android, this is the easy way in Android Studio:
1. Add a "Google Admob Ads" activity template.
2. Set the ad format to "Banner"
3. Inside "Values" go to "strings.xml"
4. At the bottom you are going to find the "banner ad unit id" string with a really long number in between the string tags. You need to go to your Google Admob account and create an app to monetize for your Android Studio android app. You are going to be able to generate a "banner ad unit id" for your specific ad and replace the one that appeared by default. But don't replace it while testing, do it till you upload the final apk to the Play Store.

pop up ads are not ok for clicker games😂

However, it could happen that you see test ads working correctly but no live ads displaying. This could happen because there is no one advertising on your app, no one is bidding on the keywords or content type of your app. Your Admob account will show no ad impressions generated for your app, in this case since it's new give it some time it could take a while to start showing ads.
I should also say, that there are more ways for monetizing a game app that are more user friendly, adding ads could make your users go away, look for marketing strategies for mobile apps to help you make money out of it 😊

If your game is an addicting online game then all the money will come on its own
eg:
People will spend so much time on your gaming website which will lead to you making money with every click.
You may even include in app purchase making your clients able to buy packs of power ups in the inventory with they credit cards and this will just look like a simple bank transfer as you will get the money delivered to you in solid state.
Ads should never come into your game or everyone runs away.
For Sololearn have started the inclusion of Ads which makes the learning app so so boring!

You can probably use some library that helps you add google ads into the game, but as StillSoul says, unless your game is good, you should not be concerned of puting in ads
