Can someone help me? I'm on a tablet with a keyboard when I press tab it jumps to the virtual keyboard.

Are you using a physical keyboard with your tablet? Then possibly you won't be able to use physical tab button to make long spaces while writing code in the playground. You can use the onscreen TAB button available in the code playground.
Your physical tab button can be used to navigate through the screen.

Go to settings and keyboard, then keyboard shortcuts, it could be that ypur tablet's keyboard might contain a shortcut, which was set by you.
