Extreme delay between keypress and sound output

Question

I have a file here in which I want to play various MIDI notes by pressing buttons. My problem is that there is a significant delay between the moment when the button is pressed and the sound is played. How can I minimize this delay so that the sounds play as soon as the buttons are pressed, and not a perceived one to two seconds later? I'm really struggling to find an answer to what adjustments I can make to solve the problem. Perhaps someone can provide me with some helpful tips for resolving this issue.
