Why don't the badges give XP?

No badge is giving any XP, I check my XP status every time without success. It doesn't work. Do you know why?

In Learn section you will get bits if you click on that it will show you different ways to gain bits.
For completing lesson you will get 5bits.

It is the same! The same ways you earn bits, you earn XP too. Just you earn 10 bits for a code challange, but you earn 5xp if you win.
