Java is a great language and will help you learn object oriented programming. For me, I've not found much use for it. I know it's popular with Android development. Kotlin seems to becoming more popular for Android development. With all that said, Java is a great language to learn.
You could also learn key programming concepts with other languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, or Python. All of these are object oriented and are great languages.
You will find that many languages are very similar in the major concepts. Object oriented languages all have inheritance, methods, and properties. The syntax varies, but syntax is the easy part.
The key is to pick one and learn it well. Java is a good choice. Otherwise, consider C++.
If you want to become a professional programmer someday, you'll need to be able to know the language that fits the type of programmer you are. Certain languages are more popular in certain industries or for certain types of programming. But for now, the key is to know the core concepts of variables, functions, objects, etc. Most languages have those things. So just pick one and go for it.
Once you decide what type of programmer you want to be, then adapt your skills to the preferred language for that type of programmer.
Personally, I use Python the most because I write a lot of small utility scripts. For application development, I prefer C# or C++. But if you like web design, it's HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the front-end and SQL with JavaScript or Python for the backend. For game programming, it's C++ or C# depending on the game engine.

For DSA C++ is the most known option but if u prefer Java u should go with kotlin (successor of Java but very fun n easy coding especially for cp/DSA)

Java is good for all kinds of programming but I think that , the big war between Oracle and Microsoft and the Kotlin project of Google will terminate her use. Your primary consideration should be what kind of job, or program you want to find or work. My suggestion for starting programming is Python and later on continue with anything else
