What is the best way to present code in your portfolio?

I would like it to be clear that I wrote it and what went into it, but code can be so intense to parse through in an interview or resume. Is there a nice way to include the code and description without it being an eyesore?

u can use github for storing codes and just attach link to your profile to a resume
