For were should i start? Ruby or python?

python and ruby have only few differences. For my own reasons I prefer ruby. It is easy,general purpose and powerful. Though the same applies to python. The thing I like in ruby is freedom.

python is really basic and accepts lots of things other languages don't. In my opinion it looks a bit like php and a good place to start

Every time i read the word freedom,, i read lazyness.. I'm not saying you are lazy, but these languages take so many things that C or Java won't do. Like not having to specify your datatype or making an int to an array on the second line. It makes the program easier to break in my opinion. Bugs get in much easier and such. Don't hate the messenger! ;)
