True. CSS needs HTML, but HTML doesn't need CSS.

True. The easiest way to see it is to look for web codes at the code playground.

Remember back then when ads were all in pure HTML? They looked so much more convincing.

@visph you can still do html without css, it'll just look barebones or ugly.

@Tashi: Also in Svg I think... maybe others, and I guess there will be more to more with time ^^ However they tend to use specifics attributes depending on context. But Css was clearly first design for and from Html. I'm agree that Html before Html5 was standalone capable, but I consider ( I'm not trying to impose a truth, but I share a point of view ;) ) this is no more true and actually Html cannot exist without Css on production actually... without JS is imaginable, especialy since last animation features of Css and/or Svg ( now usefull sub-part of Html, but SVG was standalone first designed :P )...

Appart from ugly text content, you cannot do anything acceptable ^^

@Ahri: ... but with earlier version of Html: Html5 deprecate all attributes and tags used for basic styling ^^ However it's true that Html could be standalone, but I tend to consider that Css is only a sub-part of Html language, as Css isn't used in others context :P
