Web design vs Wix

The importance of web development nowadays is undeniable. Having control how things are developed, customize it, explore new possibilities are priceless. We can achieve it by programming.
But, with the solutions like Wix and other platforms, that deliver a web site with a low price, can this shake the field of web development? I know they make a simple website compared to made by professionals, but is it a temporary issue? Are the possibilities for them to substitute, in the future the web developers?

it will be better if you make the website yourself. Why to waste money on wix like websites. It will be a good practice if we do things ourselves. That will give us experience that will help the most or else why are we learning html if we wix can do that for us. THINK AND TELL

I think web development will be the best option because why do you need to pay wix monthly/annually if you can develop or pay developers one-time.

Well there is a developer that is monthly payment because I think they maintain the web (updates, maintenelance, security, etc)
