Are (software) engineers regarded highly in your country?

I've heard in the USA they are highly regarded, while, for example, in the UK they are not so much. (that's kind of interesting because both countries share basically nearly the same culture, language and history)

What about your country? (Please also mention in what country you are talking about)

Considering the outlook of how programmers are doing over here in my place... I'd say I probably have to get elsewhere, anywhere, to even be regarded to begin with. 😐

We have one of the best software engineers of the world....The problem is they go in other countries like USA for better income and opportunities......Also we have the growing IT hub (Bengaluru) ....Maybe in coming future the next Silicon Valley is here
