Best IDE and language to use in Raspi 3

planning on using visualstudio and python but want to hear some other thoughts :P because im more into c# and i dont have any bg on python but anything can be learned with google and stack overflow xD

Most of the beginner friendly idea and tools are available by default if you install raspbian.
Same goes for python examples and tutorial that are also widely available online.
I think visual studio will be a hog on the pi.
