How to change directory in command prompt?

Question

i need help in understanding this part. Currently when i open the cmd, the directory shows
( C:\Users\hp>)
what should i do so that the directory will change into other path. for example,
(C:\Users\hp\desktop>)
or even other directory?
is there anything that you want to add to this?

Windows?
Use cd followed by the directory to change directory.
Or open cmd in the windows explorer from that folder.

cd desktop

And release directory
with
cd..

use "cd" command. if you want to go to Desktop from hp directory then you can use "cd Desktop"

while typing directory name you can press Tab for auto completion.

Also try the "help" command. It will give you a list of commands with their descriptions. This is for Windows command line.

For Unix based systems it is "man".
