Age is irrelevant. I taught myself BASIC at 11 by analysing example source code that came with QBasic. There was no home internet in my country back then. It is a matter of determination. Today, knowledge is at our fingertips, a child even younger could learn C.

100% passion! you won't learn anything until you take action like in sports hockey players they started skating at age at least 2 years old you have to push yourself and motivation will give you more of a boost to want to learn it won't come to you if you aren't learning. Sorry for the bad English.
