Will this java course result in a real life programmer?

I'm currently in the classes and objects section of this course ..it's going great and I'm really enjoying this course . I want to find out how far I'll be from being a "real life" java programmer after completing this course? My goal is to create a user friendly desktop or Web based program / mobile application for my church to manage our membership and basic finances

Kudzai, im glad the courses are going great. this app teaches you the basics of java, im sure theres more to learn. but if you feel ready to make an application like that, i say go for it.

As Aquarius said, it teaches the basics. It takes some practice and research to become a "real life" programmer, but it's a start. After the course, you will have the knowledge to start working on your application, and with the help of some googling to resolve the doubts that will pop regarding databases, UI, etc. I'm sure you will be able to create your app in no time.
