Please what's the code to find the determinant of a 2*2 matrix. Thank you guys

Am a bigginer and I found this forum so interesting, please help me with the codes

The determinant is:
(a)(c) - (b)(d)

Where the matrix is:
A = | a b |
| c d |
So assuming it's a multi-dimentional array:
A[0][0] * A[1][1] - A[0][1] * A[1][0]
