Could someone help me with CodeBlocks?

I'm a beginner and I'm trying to learn how to use CodeBlocks. I've recently been trying to stop an exe file that displays "Hello World!" as I run the program I'm currently on, even if I delete the file it'll come back when I run it again. If someone can help me I'd appreciate it.

Are you selecting "new file" or "new project"? File shouldn't cause this error. If project, then select view->manager. It'll show all existing projects on left menu bar. Double click (or right click -> activate project) on the project name which you want to run.

I tried file, a blank one at that and got nothing. it keeps showing that with its directory.

There's still no difference. Even if I have nothing and hit run it'll show Hello World. it says it's from Desktop/CodeBlocks/Project/bin/debug/Project.exe.

I did the walk through but now I can't make a blank project. It asks me if it's been write protected.
