Inline or separately, and loading speed issue for Functions in PHP websites

I would like to ask if there is deferent to put functions inside html together. or separately in file and include or required it inside the other pages.

I see it's better to sperate it, then we can use it more than one time , Everytime we need them.

but if it inside the html or out , has it affect on the loading of the webpage ? Is that also right to put all functions inside one file ? how it's usually ?
