SP, Var and Encryption in SQL

Question

I've been working with SQL on my job for quite some time now and thus to my great tutors I never started the SQL course. But when I did, just a couple of days ago I noticed that the SPs and exercises with variables are completely missing. Let alone encryption.
Are there any plans to add this or is it going to stay like this?
