Learn any of the them.. Both are the best available languages and are widely used.

If you totally new to programming,then learn C++ , as starting with C++ will really help you in learning new concepts and languages in future.

If you have a little bit taste of programming (i'm assuming here that you know C), then pick up Java. Java  is much faster , cleaner  and alot better than C++. You can check this link below

Java is best language to learn in present time as it has a wide market as well as common language in development of mobile based applications.

Comparing Java to C is like comparing apples to oranges.

C is typically used for embedded systems, device drivers and other low level applications which is impossible to use Java for. On the other hand, if you need a higher level approach for more of a userland application or a large complex enterprise website, Java is definitely a better choice.
