Can I crop a certain image using CSS that will show on my HTML? How?

you can crop image by using width and height but make that image as background, not a img tag

i mean edit a pic using css that will show in my html.. because im making an Html and a pic is needed to be cropped.. thats why im asking if a way is possible im new in css so i don't know sorry 😒
