Lack of Ruby & Python Skilled Developers

Why are we lacking in numbers when it comes to Ruby and Python developers? According to Offerzen.com, these skills are missing especially in South Africa, so why is it that we are not taking advantage of this skill shortage and penetrate the industry while it is still most??? I for one know that I am guilty of this, but I am rectifying it now as I am typing this, I am learning Ruby and Python as of today and encourage you guys to do so as well...

In my opinion, it's dependant upon the local context. In the country where I live, for instance, Ruby and python represent a small statistical percentage of the market demand, therefore, people would rather opt for learning something that could increase their chances to get an opportunity or a job rather than something that is not learned extensively but is unable to offer you a job (be it in freelancing or a stable job).

You are very right in what you are saying KINGDX, and I was merely saying that having that skill added onto your current skill set will put you on a competitive level and more higher demand than other developers. It wont hurt to learn an additional language or two especially if you are already in the work environment, but otherwise your comment is understood 100%.
