Something wrong with "trending"?
Q&A sorted by trending seems a bit strange? Someone else noticed it? Should I report?

@Hatsy - hope they separate Q&A soon. I am a bit tired of the "How to become a master of programming/ hacking in about a week, because I want to make tons of money of it after that" type of questions 😂😂😂😂

Sure, "17K followers" i meant is easier get more visibility because more users see your activity in their "Activity Feed". ^^

Certain trending threads are handpicked. Considering recent thread qualities *coughs*, it isn't a wonder that your thread is on trending. :>

I was about to ask Nomeh why Nomeh knows that Nomeh downvoted and then I realized the comment belongs to Nomeh. *facepalm*

15 answers from 5 users.
Trending Section works pretty fine, after some time all threads in trending are in the 10-15th position (same for code)
Generally a thread is in trending because it got some likes/answers in short time, you have +17K followers and maybe this is the reason... not the content, unfortunately.
I think your "challenge" is pretty hard for beginners and as you already know... this is a learning environment, this is why (at least in my opinion) just few users answer to that thread. :)
EDIT - As i wrote... if you see the Trending Section right now, technical questions get less answers than general questions like "How to master all programming languages"..

@Maz - That is what makes me wonder - it was never ment to be a very popular thread and I am quite sure that the number of my followers does not take part in the calculation (or at least it never did before)....
Anyway, I was just wondering, may be it is fine and does not need to be reported as a bug... will keep an eye on it though 😃

@Ekansh, yep might be, I would normally mark that answer as best, but unfortunately I can not be sure if it is correct, as there is nothing official about that (not that I am surprised). However soon after I published this trending got back to what I consider as normal, so there could have been something 😉

I am never in that section so looks fine :)

@cheeze - 15 is not much and the last one was almost 24 hrs ago, but might be that @Very Hard is right and it's about likes....

There are three basic factors that determine which question should be in trending.
1. Number of platinum Up votes.
2. Number of likes/comments in the first 30mins or so.
3. The last and the most important one is the Number of Up votes from MODERATORS.
here your Question has:{
4 platinum up votes (Dayve, Nomeh, Hatsy, Kuba) &
3 moderator Up votes (Dayve, Hatsy, Kuba)}
Next Question (A quiz creation form) {
has 5 platinum up votes (Dayve, Gami, Washika, Maz, Hatsy, )
1 platinum downvote (Nomeh< I've seen this type of question a lot of time/>)
3 moderator up votes (Dayve, Maz, Hatsy)
...here the down vote counts a lot! }
Next Question (Is it okay to learn C++ without learning C first){
got
1 platinum up vote (Hatsy) and
1 moderator up vote (Hatsy).}
the lower ones are either too old or lacks key up votes.
This also made my code..
https://code.sololearn.com/WEFAMP33GHDg/?ref=app
which has no moderator up vote to be lower in trending than this one
https://code.sololearn.com/WHKybxrFwYCS/?ref=app
which has a Burey and Maz up vote.

How does trending actually get decided?

I also noticed that the question was removed from trending after this question...
😕 might be because it's kinda old 👵
