What is the best approach to learn web application devlopment?

i code in java and c++....but can write only standalone applications..i want to learn how to make web application so please sort this out for me!

you had better start learning html, css and javascript as client side first then go on with php or c# as server side

the html and css courses in sololearn include both classic and html5 and css3 already just go with them
