game development not only need languages but creativity, and many things but for starter you should learn languages that clears how things works in a computer ,than learn things for game development. but if you wanted to create games than go for cms tools than, after creating some small games ,come back and learn coding.
yup Python is a grate language to start your journey in programing

i am just 15 and made a 2d Mario like game from scratch using Unity And C#.
I advise you to complete C# Tutorial first then go to Youtube and search for Brackeys. Now Watch His Creating a ("Some Game") Replica Livestreams.
It will help you a lot.
Thanks

Hi, yes, if you plan to build a game you will do well to learn a language. However, I believe there are also game engines that have tools to help you build games without this knowledgem. However if I am correct please can someone more knowledgeable confirm this.

If you want to make a game you need C++ or C# and Java.
then a programming scripting language like Python or Ruby.
& your power eg: unity 3d.

for game development scripting language are as mandatory as foreground languages like c++, etc
because c++ and same languages only provide a good gui for any app. but how things will work are decided by scripting languages.
