People are just asking simple and straight forward questions which can be easily googled.
Hi everyone I have seen a recent rise in people who are just asking simple and straight forward questions which can be easily answered if just google it. These are "what is <this>?" or "difference between <x> and <y>" type of questions. People need to do their homework first before asking questions. They don't wanna spend their efforts on searching for answers and are looking for cooked answers. Why do they expect that others people will have extra time to answer their questions?

I agree. Facts can be googled. Forums are supposed to be used for topics which warrants a discussion instead of one which has a definite right/wrong answer.
That said, we shouldn't discourage beginners. As much as duplicate/answered/simple questions are not favourable, they are legitimate based on our community guidelines.

If the question has been asked before, Imo just tell the person it's been discussed before, and point the link to the previous identical question (that is either closed or answered), isn't that how we do in most forums out there?
