If you're asking how often am I programming, 8 hours at work, and then 6 hours when I get home before I go to bed.
Back in the 90s I bought some Sam's books on C++ and C, and that's where I began with it. I prefer self-learning over sitting in a boring class for weeks going at a turtle pace; not to mention having to pay someone to tell me to read something I can already read myself. I got sidetracked over the years with networking and security, but have been back in the swing of things with programming for the past many years. Since you have the internet, you have access to nearly every book and resource available, including college books for free. If you stick to it, and ruthlessly seek out additional resources to read / utilize, then you'll be alright.
