As I mentioned earlier 16. currently I'm 19 and the years wasn't fun... My first year in programming I was taught Delphi but the teacher didn't keep up with the curriculum and so I fell half a year behind with the other school.
My second year I had to catch up all my grade 10 work in 1 month. I did but it took a lot of effort. But I failed my year, because we never had any classes...
I went to Germany as an exchange student and out of boredom there was a spark. I did a self study on C# and studied a book of 800+ pages in 3 months, after that I gave extra classes to my German class and helped them getting top of the class marks.
When I returned home (South Africa), my school told me that I had to catch up because they switched languages from Delphi to Java, and I had 2 weeks to catch up two years of Programming.
But I'm glad to have studied C# in Germany, because that made learning Java a breeze, all I had to do was learn new words.
Lesson?
You WILL fall, you WILL give up... but if you push yourself further, you WILL improve.
