You can have as many dimensions as you want. Just imagine multi-dimensionnal arrays as boxes in boxes.

Practically 3, 4 dimensional or even 5 dimensional arrays can be used in mathematics based program to solve matrices or determenents of the order 4x4 or 5x5.
