CCNA

Question

Hi everyone. Could anyone share their experiences of either having this certificate or of colleagues having it please. I'm going to start studying it in October and any positives or tips would be helpful. Thank you.

ccna is the most easy step all you need is to understand networking properly and need some knowledge about console commands

I suggest you to download an emulator ; it will help you to learn commands.

also you may register cisco education site for free documents or search internet for "ftee redbook for ccna"

I have completed my CCNA course.If you have chosen your profile as networking then it's a useful course and you refer Todd lammle text book for that..it's..good..in that there is everything about commands ..download the cisco packet tracer..where you can actually build the network and configure it..I hope this is helpful ..

This is a definite cert that you want to get. It is the first step in learning routing and switching. When getting a job people look at this. I am a senior network engineer and I started my career with this. From a hiring perspective, I would hire someone with a CCNA and no college vs someone with a Bachelor's degree with IT and Networking and focus with no CCNA (or other Cisco Cert).

Depending on your state your starting pay could be easily $50K or more per year. In 10 years of continued learning and further certificates, you could easily be making $100k - $120K.

For learning aids/resources the Books are a good place to start but don't forget that YouTube has a ton of videos on almost all subjects to help clarify topics you might be unfamiliar with. There are also plenty of test prep quizzes and tools available to you to look at prior to your testing.
