C# or PHP for backend?

Question

Which language would be better for backend web development for you? I know these 2 languages and developed C# desktop based apps before but never developed a web based app yet. So I need to learn also ASP NET. Can you list pros and cons for both langs based on your experiences?

c# is more stable
for me php is easy than c#

I would prefer PHP for server side.

I am also with @Amrit however I also use node.js for server-side

Today I worked whole day in order to create a simple question answer site with PHP, and I must say that PHP is sooo much fun! Also as a wordpress fan, I should definitely learn and master PHP so maybe I can develop wp plugins in the future too. This simple question site will be ready to launch in a few weeks, I guess :) and then maybe I can add more and detailed features in the future.

Ofcourse php:-))) Scripting languages will always be faster on backend because they don't need to compile! @Taha challenged me - I was very tired and yawning - won the xp:-))) Let's go sleeping! 😪
