Both languages are two different way. python contain simple syntaxes, whereas Java syntaxes are quite tough. python has a rich set of library. But,with respect to speed python take more time to execute than Java. python is modern.Easy and fast to learn... currently python became very useful language in web field, data analysis, and modern software field.

They are both useful languages in their own ways; It should be noted that jobs in Java are shifting from development to maintenence, a potential sign of its approaching termination in future development projects. Do some research in your dream field and see what languages they recommend, even go onto a careers website and search up the job title and see what the required/recommended knowlege is. Hope you find this helpful!

Python better for short programs/prototyping, Java better for big projects/mission-critical stuff. Python doesn't scale as well as Java for large projects, python is for projects of 1,000 lines but Java is for projects of 100,000 lines. for CPU intensive services Java is a better choice due to its speed and superior garbage collection.
