Is the HTML only programming language used as backbone of websites or there are exceptions?

html is a markup language, not a programming language - almost every webpage currently up on the web uses it as its structure.

HTML is the main markup language to define the structure and layout of a web page. All web browsers look for a file with HTML content in order to load a web page.

I know that besides java and HTML other programming languages like C can also make websites, but I don't know the correct header files for it to happen.

what I am asking is that do anybody know the correct library for any programming language. If they do please share.

Java and javascript are two different languages, javascript is used for web pages to make them interactive for example adding a button click action. Javascript is not used to make the layout of the web page. This is the role of HTML. Java however is a programming language used to make programs.

@Hassie java was introduced as web programming language. during 90's all the websites were made from java. With the introduction of HTML the popularity of java as web based programming language was reduced.
