Refreshing yourself with the material you had already completed before you took a break is a must. You can skim through the course(s) you are taking, starting at the beginning, and then switch to fully redoing the material once you reach a point where you don't have a complete understanding of what is being covered.
While reviewing and advancing through the course(s), it is also helpful to watch some video tutorials that are covering the same points as the course(s) to reinforce your learning. I have found that the videos produced by youtube.com/thenewboston are very helpful when learning more challenging material. In fact, many of the courses offered here on SoloLearn are based on those videos.
Finally, taking some time to do some coding challenges add an extra layer of reinforcement in learning. Great sites like codefights.com have tons of coding challenges to work through, and even offer integration with schools and businesses.
Hope this helps!

if you're at SoloLearn, so you dont need to worry, SoloLearn teaches every language with the very begining and covers all basic concepts.....
you were away from coding for a long time.
Now you have to pick your target language, re-install a suitable comiler, go through basics and try to code....
the first 2-3 days will be frustrating for you(don't put your tea-cup at your desk while coding on your computer, chances are you'll broke it.... just kidding ;) )
but after a week passes you'll feel, that you are grasping and recovering of what you had lost before....
cheers!!!!
Happy coding and
keep coding....
Good luck!!

@ouafae kandoussi. learn code to build projects from scratch is so hard and it is impossible with some people. for good idea I think, Ghost blog, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal ... give us easy tools to build websites(https://www.ecommwar.com).or you should learn code that build with real start-up projects like Airbnb, Uber Eat, Fiverr, Product Hunt etc.. after you got one in hands then you will busy with it. some sites offer these. just Google it.

you should have the real project that give you busy with code. like blogs, newspapers, magazine, e-commerce sites and so on....

Use the internet. Every problem you have in the first year you learn to program is a problem 100 other people have had before you. And all the answers are recorded online.Good luck💛💛

You are never late to learn. I started coding again after a total gap of five years. But I do forget things I learned, so brush up required to get in touch with the subjects. Practice more, search more, learn more!

You don't need to worry about forgetting things. I have stopped coding years after I got my CS degree and tried SoloLearn as well as code training websites such as HackerRank and CodeWars to refresh my memory, and things started to get back to me more easily. All it takes is dedication and perseverance.

Dont afraid my friend, just try to repeat this everything , and make some easy tasks and everything will be ok. 'Cause repeating is a mother of learning!

if you are forget the concepts of programming I just suggest you to see the codes of all coders here and try to understand the logic behind that codes which will give you idea how to make a unique code
and just start the basic course here and after completing that course just start to do challenges it will help you to learn coding again

Reached this same predicament; University and then a gap in programming with other priorities taking lead. Very difficult especially if programming isn't your strong point

Refresh yourself, reset some progress and revise

knowledge is like one-way traffic,if u already studied after a long ago don't worry just revise it will take less time for u
